1st International Art Days of Harran University

Until recent history all great works of art (Painting, sculpture) were created by the artists working together for the enhancement of life of their community or for the society at large. The first International Art Days at the Harran University, Urfa in March 10-20, 2014 is organizing by SanARTworK International Workshop Organisation Co. under this philosophy.

URFA, A TURKISH CITY with ancient streets, courtyards of houses, with historic architecture from BC. 12000 to Göbeklitepe ranging the cave of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Jacob & Jacob’s well, Fish Lake which survive Prophet Ibrahim from the fires and historical knowledge of the unique historical monuments of tradition and modernity will be synthesized to produce a new discourse will host the first International Art Days at Harran University.

Though originally the initiative grew from a need to facilitate communication, inspiration by the natural & ancient beauty of Urfa and exchange of ideas between artists will take part in the Art Days. It’ll also be a good learning experience to the creative minds from different cultures and disciplines of modern art come to gether to share their conception of the world around them through this organization. Photographers and painters often circle the globe to find the inspiration and mental space to hatch an arresting theme or motif. The result is a body of work that is as much uncollaborative as it is a pure expression of what the artist has to share with their audience.

70 artists will participate to the open workshop and produce their work in the Harran University campus which will give opportunity to the public to see the various stages of creating the art . The 28 artists are from different countries such as; Uzbekistan, Cuvasistan (Russia), Italy, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Northen Cyprus, Germany, Egypt, Malasia, Georgis, Poland, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Baskortostan (Russia),Russia, Belarus, Dagistan, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Yakutistan (Russia) and 42 academic & proffesional Turkish artists will participate.

During the Art Days, the costs for meals, accommodation and excursion tours in Urfa of the participating artists will be met by the organizing committee. Two canvases in sizes 100 x 120 cm, 15 colors of acrylic paint, brushes of various sizes and other materials that will be needed will be provided by the organizing committee. Any other special material needed will be on the the artist.

The Art Days will be open with press attendance and will be closed with an exhibition which will be announced to the public. A banner, invitations and catalogs will be conducted for the opening cocktail and gala dinner and all works exhibited will remain at Harran University. During the event, live tv schedules & broadcasts will be held by local TV channels and newspapers as well as universities and other school visits and interviews will be scheduled .

Harran University 1st International Artists Meeting to be photographed at all stages of the work done within the scope and video recording will be made. This preliminary work done by professional graphic designers will be brought into animated presentation and a CD will also be collected. All images contained in this Cd to the public via internet and announced the event, Urfa and Harran University's presentation will be spread to a wider audience.
